RCMA Foundations are a cult favourite of Makeup Artists as they are available in such a wide range of shades for all skins and they provide professional, natural, beautiful results for not only everyday makeup application but also look amazing under HD film and camera.
The creamy formula has a high pigment content of around 50%, resulting in excellent colour payoff without the need to layer on too much product keeping the results natural and realistic...a little goes a very long way!
Comprised of a clean blend of just vegetable oils, pure waxes and pigment making it unlikely to cause allergic reactions.
Does not always require powdering, particularly on a drier skin, on an oilier complexion it can be finished and set using the RCMA No Color Powder to ensure that the results remain fresh and natural and never cakey.
RCMA stands for Research Council of Makeup Artists and was founded back in 1962 by renowned American Makeup Artist Vincent Kehoe, the idea behind the organisation was to research and develop professional makeup products to withstand film, TV & stage requirements.
Vincent created a special formula for professional Makeup Artists called Color Process Foundation and so the RCMA brand was born!
Warm up the natural waxes on the back of your hand to body temperature prior to application to create a smooth, blendable, seamless consistency.
This foundation can be layered to obtain fuller coverage.
To sheer it out into a less opaque finish, for a more fluid consistency use a drop of the RCMA Foundation Thinner and for a creamy consistency use the RCMA Clear Foundation.
The clear base doubles up as a great lip balm and can be used either alone or over colour, because it results in a soft matte finish and is not glossy, it is perfect for a really subtle, natural look and also ideal for men to keep lips soft and conditioned but without looking too made up.
The shades themselves are so carefully thought through and translate into real life skin tones to flatter and compliment all complexions.
The RCMA Foundations come in a series of undertones and within each series there is a range of depths covering all skin colours from the very palest to the very darkest and all the various shades in between making this an all inclusive range.
PORCELAIN and IVORY:
These are the palest shades with the Porcelain being an incredibly pale, slightly yellow based ethereal shade which is great for period makeups and actually was created for the Young Queen character in the early Star Wars films. Ivory is a slightly deeper, pale yellow/pink toned, more wearable version and still a perfect shade for redheads and English rose type complexions. Both of these palest shades can be mixed in with other skintones to lighten, adjust and customise as well as for highlighting.
THE KA SERIES:
Subtle yellow undertones in shades suited to very pale and fair skins. The cream, soft yellow tinged shades help to impart a very natural warmth to the complexion and yellow tones will also help to neutralise any pink or high colour which can be present in very pale skins.
KA1 is the palest in the series with the KA2 & KA3 being medium shades and finally the KA4 is the deepest in this series.
THE SHINTO SERIES:
The colours in the SH range have primarily yellow undertones turning to a greenish yellow for a slight coolness as the shades deepen. The SH Series suits light through to tanned complexions. Created specifically for Asian skins and complexions with more yellow tones. Note that the SH5-SH8 have slightly less warmth/intensity.
THE OLIVE SERIES INCLUDING GENA BEIGE:
The colours in this series are warmer than the SH & KO Series with less yellow making them a more peachy olive shade and contain a bit more red, suited to a neutral olive skintone rather than a really golden/yellow olive skin. They add a natural, realistic warmth to the complexion. They deepen in shade as the numbers rise starting with the Gena Beige as the palest and with OL4 being the deepest shade in this series.
THE KT SERIES:
This range was designed for tanned Caucasian complexions KT3 is a lovely deep yellow tone to add warmth and tan without looking ashy.
THE KO SERIES:
These shades are the in betweens to the SH Shinto Series and are quite neutral with a mix of peachy and yellow tones to compliment and work with both red or yellow undertoned complexions. The KO Series range from fair through to tan and even deeper skins with the KO1- KO4 being fair, light, medium and tan shades, the KO5- KO8 run through medium to deep shades.
THE KN SERIES:
These are brown shades with various undertones ideal for darker and deeper complexions. Within this series, the KN1-KN4 are warmer tones with KN1 a medium shade and KN4 a deep shade. KN5 is a neutral dark shade. KN6 & KN7 have a yellow undertone for a deep to dark skin. KN8 & KN9 have a cooler, blue undertone for the very darkest complexions.
THE MB SERIES:
Unlike the other series's, the shades within this range do not necessarily ascend in any order, they are all darker shades suited to tanned through to deep complexions and they have various undertones.
MB1: Light brown shade with orange undertones
MB2: Medium brown shade with orange undertones
MB3: Deep shade with orange undertones
MB4: Dark shade with orange undertones
MB5: Lighter brown shade with reddish undertones
MB6: Brown shade with reddish undertones
